Malak & the Boat
Role: Character Design/
Storyboards
Client: 180 LA/House of Colors
The campaign “Unfairytales” was created by 180LA for UNICEF, shedding light on the youngest victims of the Syrian refugee crisis. “Malak and the Boat” tells the story of one such girl as she and her mother journey across the Mediterranean to find safety.
I had the privilege of providing the visual development of this project. By blending the story’s poignant narrative with a distinct animation style, I was able to craft a dark fairytale that mirrors the characters harsh reality. The short film was so well recieved that it became the cornerstone of the campaign and would go on to garner numerous awards.

Introducing Peluches, your best friends best friend. Each soft, plush toy has an elastic bungee cord that clips to your dog’s collar so that it never leaves their side. The brand wanted something distinctive that would “POP” from competitors in a highly saturated market.
